ABOUT RICHARD NGUYEN


I’m Richard Nguyen, and fitness has been a lifelong journey for me. It began with various athletic pursuits, including Taekwondo, kickboxing, track and field, and swimming, which laid the groundwork for my dedication to physical well-being. In my later 20s, I discovered Jiu Jitsu, where I spent four years as both a competitor and coach. This period taught me resilience, the importance of fostering growth in others, and the value of continuous learning - lessons that I bring into every training session.

My passion for strength training deepened when I discovered powerlifting. What initially started as a conditioning method evolved into a personal pursuit of excellence. Competing in my first powerlifting meet sparked a new drive within me, inspiring me to help others unlock their potential through strength training. As a USAPL-certified referee, I’ve gained deeper insights into the sport and use this knowledge to guide clients through their powerlifting journey with confidence.

In addition to strength training, I’m also a certified nutrition coach, helping clients align their dietary habits with their fitness goals. I believe that strength and nutrition go hand in hand, and I’m passionate about providing evidence-based, sustainable strategies that empower my clients to thrive both in and out of the gym. My curiosity and commitment to growth drive me to continually expand my knowledge, ensuring that my methods are not only effective but also grounded in the latest research.

As a NASM CPT-certified trainer, I have worked in various environments, including powerlifting gyms, commercial gyms, and Jiu Jitsu dojos. My training philosophy is simple: empower clients by teaching them to love the process, stay consistent, and build a stronger version of themselves - one day at a time.
